    I think there was slight movement for EB3 for China and for Mexico. Now, most EB3 categories are the same PD as ROW. Except India.

    (sigh).

    I was really hoping ROW would move at least a little. This is very discouraging.

    Your employer could be a behemoth and has ironclad policies. But if you discuss your concerns with the HR/immigration dept., you would be surprised to find out how much accommodating they might be.

    I also work for a company which has very strict immigration policies. But we collectively discussed our issues with the management. And they are listening to our concerns and are changing their policies. As long as the changes are not affecting the company FINANCIALLY, many companies would bend even their ironclad policies.

    Well, doing it on my own isn't a problem. It's just that my employer is a behemoth and has ironclad policies.

    Having said that, filing fees for EAD extension are $340 and for AP $305 per applicant, right?

    Now I'll try my best to get EAD/AP extended either by me or the employer but if that doesn't happen (say my employer says it's our policy for you not to do it on your own), will a gap in EAD/AP create problems?

    http://www.lspace.org/books/reading-order-guides/ has a map over which books makes sense to start with. The first two in the series ("The Colour of Magic" and "The Light Fantastic") might be a tad compact at first read (maybe just me, but I've had friends tell me this as well, so...).

    I originally wanted to play the computer game, but felt I had to read the books first... I never got around to actually playing the games though. (I tried "Discworld Noir" for a while, but some of its bugs seriously interfered with the gameplay)

    Hi All:

    Question: I have a I-140 PD Sept 2005 - EB-3, And completed 4.5 years (6year end oin July 2008) on H1. I changed the job in Jan, 2007 and using the approved I-140- 3 year H1 Ext rule, I received my extention for 3 year until 2010. Now my new employer des not want to file for greencard for 1 year. meanwhile if my old employer withdraws my I-140 what would happen in this case, if I start my LC application in jan 2008.

    The question of what happens if your 140 is withdrawn by previous employer has not been answered, not by lawyers and certainly not by USCIS. It is a grey area. However, it has not been documented that USCIS will cancel an H1B extension that is based on an I-140 when the underlining 140 is withdrawn.
    You may want to ask your attorney this question.

    As many people stated already, Parents do not qualify for H4 status. They can come here on Visitors (B2) visa but that way their stay here can not be more than 6 months & frequent such stays also raise a red flag.

    So, unless one becomes Citizen - I can't think of an alternative to bring parents on a permanent basis. I wish there is a way too!!

    I don't think that your footer uses up a lot either. It doesn't bog down my system nearly as much as some of the multiple movie clip effects that some use. I think that's because a) it's not very big. B) it's only one transparency which is actuall on top of another image (the one on the bottem of the layer stack is not moving over another image), and C) The top one is fogged.. (which may or may not actually make a difference. )

    either way.. I don't find your footer to be a problem. Processors can handle a lot. When I say that it bogs down the processor more than another thing, it just means that it does that... not necessarily that it bogs it down to the point where you can actually see it.

    Hi:

    I am a july 2nd filer but had issues with my checks since my Bank account got closed due to fraduent activity. So not being sure if my checks would get cleared I applied second time on Aug 17th. Yesterday the bank was successfuly able ot channel my July 2nd checks to my new account and hence I need to withdraw my second application since my first one went through successfully. I had originally filed at NSC, but got transferred to TSC. Can someone help me on the procedure how to withdraw my second application and also not lose money from the checks on the second application.

    My wife collected her's from VFS but they do not give it out the same day either at the consulate or the VFS. The earliest I guess is 3 PM the next day that you can collect it.

    --Questions are not clear or I failed to understand them. IMO, when I-140 is denied, 485 goes down the drain. While your I-140 is in MTR process, you can switch to another job on h1b and start PERM process and then I-140 immediately. Since your 6 years on h1b are up, make sure the new process qualifies you for further h1b extensions(beyond 6 years) based on 365 day rule.

    My guess is, if your I-140 gets denied, your h1b with 3 years of validity is not going to be valid any longer. Because you got that extension based on your previous labor and I-140. You have to jump to new GC process as soon as possible.

    Also, talk to your lawyer. Hold my opinion as mere opinion.

    If dependant is already on h1b (applied 485 through spouse as primary) and switches to ead, can the dependant get back to h1b incase primary applicants 485 is rejected / held up for a long time?
