Yes - all they've decided to do is REVIEW it. They've overturned nothing. And the overturn rates are very low.

Thanks for the pics kingdonk. It looks like the Open Directory service is there in the pictures, although maybe it's unconfigurable at the moment. I do not see NFS which is surprising.
Overall, with the killing of the Xserve and Apple catering OS X Server more to the SOHO, it will be a tough sell since a lot of 2-10 person shops that don't require more than 500GB can probably have most of their infrastructure on the cloud.
If they need massive amounts of storage and not a lot of physical space then an XServe would fit better with a RAID attached and backup unit.
NFS is there, just keep your eyes peeled and you will see it some where in the screen shots along with samba and ipad file sharing.

Here is a nice place to start (http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2493) to learn about this. There are apps available (not free IIRC) that will allow for quite a bit of customization. But all (edit: well, not all, but a lot) of it can be done for free with enough research and time.
Have fun! I spent hours upon hours playing around with this when I first switched from Windows to Mac. :)

The only thing I'm missing on my 11" MBA is an SD card slot. I use my MBA 80% for pictures and video. I use a Wifi SD card now but away from home the SD slot would be great.

I'm holding off on the ipad. I really like it and I'm not waiting for some future specs. I just am not sure I have enough need for it to spend that kind of cash. I have a three year old laptop and I think I'd rather save a little more money and get a new laptop than add an ipad to my collection. And I think the needs of an ipad are not that great for me right now.
I think if I were to buy one it would be as a gift for my parents. You know these are ideal for people in the family who do not really need a full computer but you'd like to have the ability to interact with on-line. You can set it up with your own computer and occasionally update it for them. It looks to be a lot less of a headache to manage for someone who is not tech savvy than a full computer.
Ditto on all counts, especially if the 3yo laptop is a MBP.

What iPad user can't figure out how to use iTunes to sync the thing? My 65-year old mother figured out how to sync her iPod classic. How is iPad syncing any different or more complicated than what people have been doing for a decade? iPad does not require a tech genius - or 12 year old kid - to keep it working.It's not about figuring it out. It's about having a computer period. A normal person doesn't own multiple computers. He owns a computer. He might not even have bought it himself, and certainly won't maintain multiple computers (nor will the person who gifted the computer). So once the tablet is the normal person's computer, it's going to be the only one he's using. Telling him he needs a second computer just to use his primary computer is unacceptable.
Example: My mom has a computer. It was a Christmas present from me one year. But now it's old, full of crap, and needs replacing. But instead of upgrading it, I got her an iPad. It meets all her computer needs (except printing). That old clunker is in no shape to run iTunes; it's hard drive isn't even as large as the iPad's! I certainly won't be upgrading her desktop just to let her sync her iPad, nor will she when she's happy using just the iPad. She gets updates on the occasions that I visit with my MBP.
The system works well enough; her iPad is her sole computer. But it requires that I, the tech relative, keep it updated.

The iPad 2 at $730 beat the xoom at $800? Ouch... Not that i trust CR so much, but even with a margin for error, this seems rather telling...

Consumer Reports was clearly pageview trolling with the iPhone 4.
They rated it as their BEST smartphone, but said they wouldn't recommend it.
How does that make any sense?
Because, in their opinion, the iPhone 4's antenna was bad enough to make it bad at being a phone, which is its purpose, even though all the other parts of it were and still are amazing. However, they were completely wrong about that. Yes, maybe the reception gets worse when you touch that black spot, but I never leave the house without a case around it because the thing's expensive, so I never really got their point. That's why I tend to take CR with a grain of salt, but they did give it high ratings so... i guess you just have to read into their recommendations to get the full picture and decide for yourself.

When Apple aired those Intel ads of the Intel fab plant talking about dull PCs, a lot of PC users got angry over that. There was quite a backlash against Apple when they do negative advertising like that, simply making PC users look stupid (which they are of course ;)).

Then to 256GB, then to 512GB and finally to 1TB. That would be four years, quite close to 5 years he speculated. And I don't think that the increases will be quite that fast.
